The Loomis System in Cambridge

The Loomis System was developed over a number of years by Dr. Howard Loomis. It is a nutrition system based on scientific principles. The Loomis nutritional formulas are enzyme-herbal based formulas.

Dr. Loomis discovered 36 points in the body that he calls “stress points.” When pressure is applied to these stress points the Doctor will either feel a contracted muscle or a relaxed muscle. If the muscle is relaxed the stress point is negative. If the muscle is contracted, the pressure will cause some discomfort, meaning the stress point is “positive.”

Each stress point is physiologically associated with an organ. For instance, stress point 22 is associated with the large intestine. If the muscle at stress point 22 is contracted and painful, there is a problem with the large intestine; usually constipation. When the stress point is positive, an enzyme-herbal formula designed specifically for that stress point is given to the patient. The patient is usually rechecked in 1 to 3 weeks to see if the stress point is relaxed and the symptoms the patient presented with at the beginning are gone.

The Loomis Exam

A Loomis Exam consists of a health questionnaire that is done at home and a 36-stress point exam that is conducted at the office. If additional information is needed than can be seen from the Loomis Exam there is a 24-hour urinalysis that can be added for further review. The Loomis system is a proven nutrition system that has helped thousands of patients.
